Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage Luune uses, why we use them, and how you stay in control. It complements our privacy policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser, and “local storage” is a related way the browser remembers small amounts of data on your device. Both let a site remember things between page loads — like the fact that you're signed in, or the choice you made about analytics. We use only what we need, and we keep tracking cookies strictly behind your consent.

Essential cookies (always on)

These are required for Luune to work and to remember your choices. They don't track you across other sites, and they're set whether or not you accept analytics.

  • Sign-in session (lune_session) — keeps you securely signed in after you log in with a magic link. Without it you'd be signed out on every page load.
  • Signed-in flag (lune_authed) — a simple marker that tells the app you have an active session, so it can show you the signed-in experience instead of the public one.
  • Your consent choice (lune_cookie_consent, stored in local storage) — remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don't ask again on every visit.
  • Sign-up helpers — a short-lived cookie used during the magic-link sign-up flow to carry your details through, removed once you're in.

Analytics cookies (only with consent)

To understand how people use Luune and make it better, we use a few analytics tools. These are loaded only after you choose “Accept” on the cookie banner — never before you decide, and not at all if you decline.

  • Google Analytics — measures site traffic and which features get used, so we know what to improve.
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel — helps us understand the performance of marketing and how visitors arrive.
  • Pinterest — measures conversions from Pinterest, such as creating an account. These tools set their own cookies when loaded.

For the full detail on each vendor and the data involved, see the third-party services section of our privacy policy.

Managing cookies

You're in control of analytics cookies:

  • Choose Decline on the cookie banner and no analytics cookies are loaded. The essential cookies above still apply, since the app needs them to function.
  • You can change your mind at any time — clearing the consent choice in your browser brings the banner back so you can re-decide.
  • Your browser settings also let you block or delete cookies for any site, including Luune. Blocking essential cookies may sign you out or break parts of the app.
