Life Path Number Calculator
Your life path number is the single most important number in your numerology chart, a digit drawn from your birth date that describes the core theme of your life. What sets Luune's reading apart: every number is mapped to a ruling planet and zodiac sign, so your number doesn't sit on its own, it lines up with your astrology. Calculate yours below, then read what it means and which planet it answers to.
We add up every digit of your full birth date and reduce it to a single root, keeping the master numbers 11, 22, and 33.
How your life path number is calculated
Numerology reduces your full date of birth to a single root number between 1 and 9. You add together every digit of the month, day, and year, then keep adding the digits of the result until one digit remains, with one exception: the master numbers 11, 22, and 33 are never reduced, because numerology treats them as carrying a heightened, more intense charge.
For example, a birth date of 14 March 1992 becomes 1+4 (day) + 3 (month) + 1+9+9+2 (year) = 29, which reduces to 2+9 = 11, a master number, kept as it is. The calculator above does this for you and links straight to your number's meaning.
Every life path number
Nine roots and three master numbers, each an archetype with its own gifts, lessons, and (in the Luune tradition) its own ruling planet and zodiac sign. Choose yours to read the full meaning.
Numerology meets astrology
Numbers and stars have always been read together. In the Luune tradition, each life path number resonates with a ruling planet and zodiac sign, the 1 with the Sun and Leo, the 7 with Neptune and Pisces, and so on. Once you know your number, you can read its sign, and explore the planets behind it.

Frequently asked questions
What is a life path number?
Your life path number is the central number in numerology, a single digit drawn from your full birth date that describes the core theme and direction of your life. It's the number most people mean when they talk about numerology.
How is a life path number calculated?
You add together every digit of your birth month, day, and year, then keep reducing the total until one digit remains. For example, 14 March 1992 gives 1+4 + 3 + 1+9+9+2 = 29, and 2+9 = 11. The only exception is the master numbers, which are left unreduced.
What are master numbers 11, 22, and 33?
Master numbers are 11, 22, and 33. When the reduction lands on one of them, numerology stops there rather than reducing further to 2, 4, or 6, they're read as carrying a heightened, more demanding version of the energy of the digit they reduce to.
What does my life path number mean?
Each number is an archetype with its own strengths, lessons, and tendencies in love and work, the 1 a leader, the 7 a seeker, and so on. It points to the broad pattern your life tends to follow rather than fixed predictions about specific events.
Is the life path number the most important number in numerology?
It is usually treated as the most significant single number because it comes from your complete birth date and describes your overall direction. Other numbers (like your expression or soul urge number, drawn from your name) add detail, but the life path is the starting point.
