Getting started
Is Luune free?
Yes. Your full natal chart, daily horoscope, journal and 35+ calculators are completely free — no credit card, no trial countdown. There's an optional premium tier, Luune+, but everything most people come for stays free for good. See what Luune+ includes.
Can I use Luune without signing up?
Yes. Every public calculator — birth chart, moon sign, compatibility, numerology, tarot and the rest — works with no account at all. You only need to sign in if you want to save your chart, keep a journal, or read a horoscope written for your own placements.
What astrology system do you use?
Your chart uses the Western tropical zodiac with Placidus houses — the most common system in modern Western astrology. Alongside it we also offer Chinese zodiac, numerology, tarot, runes and more, so you can explore several traditions in one place. Browse every tool.
Do I need my exact birth time?
Not for everything. Sun-sign content — your daily horoscope, your star sign, most compatibility — only needs your birth date. But your Ascendant (rising sign), house placements and Moon move fast, so for those you'll want your birth time: even a few minutes can change your rising sign.
Accuracy & data
How accurate are the charts?
Very. The planetary positions behind every chart are derived from NASA JPL's DE431 ephemeris via the Swiss Ephemeris — the same engine professional astrology software relies on — and placed to within roughly one arcsecond, 1/3600th of a degree. That's far finer than any reading needs. See exactly how we calculate it.
Who writes the horoscopes?
Your readings are written by Mira, our guide — an AI that's always grounded in the real sky for that day. The transits, ingresses, retrogrades and moon phases are computed from the actual astronomy; Mira only handles the wording. They're never pre-written templates and never invented positions: the math is real, the language is interpretation.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your birth date, time and place are the most personal things an astrology app can hold, and we never sell, rent or share them. You can export everything or permanently delete your account at any time. Read the privacy policy.
Where does the astronomy end and astrology begin?
We keep a clear line between the two. The astronomy is exact — we can tell you to the arcsecond where every planet sits. What those positions mean for your life is the centuries-old language of astrology: interpretation, not physics. We'd rather show our math than dress interpretation up as science.
Luune+ & account
What is Luune+ and what does it cost?
Luune+ is our optional premium tier — $14.99/month — a "living layer" on top of the free app: a relational view of the people in your life that updates as the sky moves, proactive transit nudges, and deeper readings. It's entirely optional; the core chart, daily horoscope and calculators never go behind it. See full pricing.
Do I have to pay to get value from Luune?
No. The free tier is genuinely full — natal chart, daily horoscope, journal and the whole calculator library — and stays that way. Luune+ adds depth and the living relational layer for people who want it, but it's never required to read your chart or your day.
