What is Chiron?

Chiron is a small comet-like body orbiting between Saturn and Uranus, named for the centaur of myth — a wounded healer who could cure anyone but never himself. In a chart, Chiron marks the wound that works the same way: an old, tender injury, often from childhood, that flares up again and again and never quite closes.
